JPVerify Terms of Service
This English version is a translation provided for convenience. If it differs from the Japanese version, the Japanese version prevails.
These Terms set out the conditions for using the JPVerify website, API, related materials and paid features (the "Service") provided by DSテクニック ("we", "us"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
The Service provides, through an API, extraction of information from Japanese invoices, receipts, business cards and similar documents; address normalization; matching against public information such as corporate numbers, qualified invoice issuers, licenses and registrations, and disclosure filings; and related evidence. The scope, price, input limits and output fields of each API are shown in the OpenAPI specification and in the x402 payment request at the time of the call.
2. Eligibility and your responsibilities
- You must comply with applicable laws, these Terms, the terms of each data provider, and the rights of third parties.
- You must have the authority or a lawful basis needed to have the documents, images, URLs, addresses and other information you submit processed by the Service.
- You are responsible for managing your API credentials, wallets and payment methods.
3. Fees, payment and refunds
Paid APIs are, in principle, charged per use through x402 using USDC on Base. The applicable fee is the amount shown in the HTTP 402 payment request for each request. Payments confirmed on the blockchain cannot technically be reversed. If you believe you were charged twice, were not served after paying, or have another issue caused by us, contact us within 30 days with the transaction hash and request ID. We will review our records and decide case by case whether to re-provide the service or give an equivalent refund. Network fees, exchange-rate fluctuations and payments you send in error are your responsibility, except where the law requires otherwise.
4. Limits of outputs and official data
- Matching results are evidence or a preliminary check based on the stated source, retrieval time, coverage and matching rules.
- A non-match does not mean that the subject does not exist, is unlawful, or is low risk. Public information may be delayed, corrected, exclude some entities, or use different spellings.
- The Service does not provide professional judgments on legal, tax, accounting, identity verification or credit matters, full KYB/AML, sanctions compliance, or Peppol conformance. For important decisions, check the original sources and consult qualified professionals.
- Where the National Tax Agency or another provider requires it, responses or related materials include the source of the information and a disclaimer.
5. Permitted use and prohibited conduct
You may use the outputs of the Service as input to decisions in your own business or within systems you provide. The following are prohibited:
- Directly reselling or re-providing an upstream data provider's API, credentials or unprocessed responses as if they were our service
- Rebuilding or distributing all or a substantial part of an upstream database through bulk retrieval in breach of law or terms of use
- Unauthorized access, excessive load, circumventing limits, exploiting vulnerabilities, sending malware, or disrupting the Service
- Discrimination, harassment, unlawful surveillance, fraud, impersonation or other unlawful acts
- Automatically imposing a serious disadvantage on an individual or organization based solely on an ambiguous matching result
6. Your content and intellectual property
You retain your rights in the information you submit. You permit us to process it to the extent necessary to provide the Service, keep it secure, handle failures and evaluate quality. Rights in the Service's software, name, screens and our own editing and matching logic belong to us or their rightful owners. Rights in and terms of use for public data and other third-party materials are governed by each provider.
7. Availability, changes and suspension
Unless agreed separately in writing, there is no guarantee of uptime or response time. We may change, restrict or suspend all or part of the Service for maintenance, security, compliance with laws or upstream terms, or to prevent abuse. Significant compatibility changes will be reflected in the public specification to the extent reasonably possible.
8. Warranties and limitation of liability
We provide the Service with reasonable care, but do not guarantee the completeness of outputs, fitness for a particular purpose, continued availability, or that third-party data is free of errors. Except in cases of our willful misconduct or gross negligence, and where applicable law does not permit limitation, our liability for damages is limited to ordinary and direct damages, up to the amount you actually paid in the preceding three months for the API that caused the damage. This provision does not apply to the extent it is invalid under the Consumer Contract Act or other mandatory laws.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may change these Terms in response to changes in law, the Service or upstream terms. Important changes will be announced on this page together with their effective date. If you use the Service after a change, the changed Terms apply. Changes that require separate consent under law follow that law.
10. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Unless the law provides otherwise, the Chiba District Court has exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance for disputes relating to the Service.
